Rebecca King
How would you describe what you do?
I create order out of chaos for other people. I'm a graphic designer.
What does your morning routine look like?
It depends on how mentally healthy I am. When I'm healthy I go to the gym first thing in the morning, come home and make breakfast, shower, read a meditation card, and get to work. When I'm feeling spiritually sick or whatever I'm sleeping in and starting work as soon as I get up.
Where do you look for inspiration? A place, a person, a book, an action?
I look for inspiration in my bookshelf, museums, galleries, music, book stores, vintage clothing stores, movies, my mom's house, outside.
What work are you most proud of?
I have a hard time with that because I'm really hard on myself - which is a blessing and a curse. If I had to choose one thing it might be The Fulcrum Press, because that was a lot of blood sweat and tears (literally all of those things).
What has been the biggest challenge on your journey?
Finding my voice and understanding my role as a designer.
Who is someone that has helped you get to where you are now? How were they impactful?
My twin brother, Matt. He's a designer too, and he inspired me to follow that path and encouraged me to pave my own. I'd be lost without him.
Favorite food in LA, your go-to spot to get cravings satiated?
Hwang Hae Doe Korean BBQ on Western. I've actually dreamt about it before.
What's the last thing you bought with cash?
Peace of mind. Take that however you'd like.
