Do your on stage and off stage personalities differ tremendously?

Not really, except that on stage i’m more confident and down to be seen. Off stage, i’m quieter and more reserved. But in general, i don’t lie to my clients that much. I don’t create elaborate back stories. I’m pretty direct and unrelenting about what i believe in.

What was the process of developing your performance

persona?

I tried lying and making up stories, but they were hard to keep track of. I also started off dancing after a very gender queer moment and didn’t know how to perform femininity. It took years to learn how to be a girl for the club. Gradually i learned what my rates are and how to ask for more money. I learned how to say “yes” or “no” and hold strong to my boundaries. I also learned how to dance through practice and watching other dancers.

What motivates you to wake up in the morning?

My determination to burn shit down

Truth requires critical thought and consistent interrogation

Can you share a story of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat?

I wanted to go to a concert one night when i was scheduled to meet my sd at work. I impulsively bought a ticket anyway, unsure if my boss would let me dip. I did a 45 min vip room with my sd, but made him nut in 15. Luckily, he had to leave too. He handed me $3k. I hustled to checkout and my boss was chill because i’d made my quota. I threw my clothes on and tucked the cash in my bra, drove across town, parked a mile from the stadium where it was happening and fucking ran. I arrived at my seat right as the first song started.

What’s your favorite part about being THE fantasy?

It’s far from how i see myself or how i was perceived growing up. It’s opened so many doors for me and given me the ability to social climb. It is rooted in patriarchy, but it’s at least a taste of the many benefits men have from being systemically advantaged.

What transformation would you love to see in our society in your lifetime?

I want to see climate change actually addressed. I want to see the rich taken to the guillotines. I want to see trans kids being protected. I want to see workers seizing the means of production. I want to see sex work decriminalized. I want to see the concrete roads that cut up our land broken up and replaced with nature.

Screen clients! Follow your gut when you feel unsafe. Charge more than you think people will pay.
