Do your on stage and off stage personalities differ tremendously?

Very much yes, I keep my persona and personal life very separate.

What was the process of developing your performance persona?

 Was there a defining moment where I decided to become Riv? Yes and No. Riv has been brewing over the years but definitely performing virtually during the pandemic shut down gave her life. Riv is mostly made from the parts of myself I haven’t integrated. Riv is the person I can be in certain situations when anxiety takes over.

What motivates you to wake up in the morning?

Love, art, and the attempts of breaking out my personal hamster wheel.

What is the worst song that you absolutely love?

No such thing!

Can you share a story of snatching victory from the jaws of defeat?

After a failed stripper night, we couldn’t figure out which club to get hired at and by the time we did it was already 1am. So we sat at the bar backpacks on, I was drinking and my friend convinced this stranger sitting next to us to do 30 VIPs with us at his hotel room. The dude took sleeping pills before we showed up. We did the VIPS with him and his coked out brother. One was falling asleep and the other was talking nonstop. But the dude who took the sleeping pills was the one paying and he wasn’t making any sense and already falling asleep! We thought we were fucked. We had to basically carry him into elevator and walked him to lobby ATM machine. Slapped him in the face and reminded him we had a deal! Moral of the story, get your money upfront! Also super grateful nothing bad happened to us! We took a risk and made money when we thought the night was a bust.

How do you define truth?

Truth for me is the ability to identify it from multiple perspectives.

What is something most people don’t know about you?

I'm a unionized stripper that went on strike for over a year and helped start a stripper co-op.

What transformation would you love to see in our society in your lifetime?

I would love if we all lived in a treehouses and barter/traded for goods.
